課程概述 |
The course first introduces basic principles of toxicology. Physicochemical properties of toxicants following fate processes (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination), toxicokinetics, and toxicodynamics will be introduced. Factors affecting fate and response and mechanisms of toxic action will also be discussed. The course will then introduce fate of chemicals in the environment. Finally, modern techniques in toxicant metabolism and environmental toxicology will be discussed. |

課程目標 |
This is a selective course for students who are interested in environmental toxicology. Principles of toxicology will be first introduced. Fate processes of toxicants in the body, toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics, and mechanism of toxic action will be presented. Fate of chemicals in environment will also be discussed. Students will learn the basic concepts of toxicology and study the whole picture of fate processes of chemicals in both the body and environment. The prerequisite of this course is Organic Chemistry. |
